Sophie & Rod’s wedding was one for the books. Their day had so many amazing moments it’s so hard to choose a favorite.  I started the day at their home to capture the guys getting ready and an impromptu jam fest in Rod’s man cave.  What groom wouldn’t want to rock out with his best man before his big day?!

Then I headed to the breath-taking Hotel Monaco downtown to meet up with the girls as they prepped for the big day.   If you haven’t been, it’s a must see in Baltimore. I learned that the Monaco offeres a big bonus, in that they allow dogs in the hotel!  Sophie looked flawless, if she was nervous she didn’t show it. The bride to be was a bundle of pure joy and excitement! Of course we had to do some bridal portraits on the hotel’s gorgeous marble staircase. There are seriously something out of Carrie’s wedding from Sex in the City.

Next, we were off to the BMA for the first look.  I’ve been to the BMA many times but had never been to the garden off of Gertrude’s restaurant. Talk about a dazzling secret garden!  Their first look was picture perfect under this stunning tunnel of vines.  We wondered around the garden and of course used the BMA steps in a few more photos. After making them take so many portraits their faces hurt, it was time to get married.

The ceremony was off of Gertrude’s in the garden over a quiet pond. Sophie literally walked on water down the aisle, to get married.  The whole ceremony was nothing but smiles and laughter, ending with the traditional smashing of a glass to start their life together!

After finishing all of their family photos just before the rain blew in, it was time for the party to start!  Their live band carried their celebration into the night, while friends and family danced with the newlyweds.  Congratulations to the new Mr. & Mrs. Lauver, you two are such a sweet couple. I wish you all the happiness in the world and thank you for allowing me to capture your big day!

I love that the flowers on their invitations are so similar to the beautiful and colorful flowers they had at the wedding! I actually haven’t seen a BMA wedding until now- how gorgeous!
